This bathroom project was commissioned on the back of our success in creating the wet-room (next feature in Gallery) for the same client some months earlier.
We had a good sized room to work with but the challenge as always is scale and proportion as well as usability and a strong desire to create interest in the room and not just against the walls hence the stone free standing bath and floor mounted tap both very precisely situated at exactly the right angle for it all to work successfully. In the last image you can also see a Laufen trolley with built in storage and a padded seat - a very useful accessory as it can be positioned anywhere around the bath when in use.
We constructed a wall recess under a staircase to create storage with a 1200mm wide pull out drawer with space above and below for towels. There is built in LED lighting above and below the drawer and you might note how we split the mosaics in half and sent one row across the top and one row around the recess to merge again on the other side. That took some planning!
The floor tiles have recessed LED's around the bath and not visible in the images is a large feature chandelier to bring light down from a very high ceiling. In addition to the 2 towel warming radiators there is electric underfloor heating too.
The ceramic tiles are Ardesie Plombe 40cm x 80cm and the feature mosaic borders are Dune Tiffany Black - an opulent touch to an otherwise understated yet stylish bathroom.
