The original kitchen in this period property typically had the sink under the window and the hob on the adjacent wall resulting in the chief cook and bottle washer being dissengaged with everyone else as he/she worked with his/her back to the rest of the family - not much fun when your trying to keep your eye on the little ones! We set about changing that by chanelling services across the floor and ceiling to create the island unit you see with the sink and hob taking centre stage. This had the advantage of opening up wall space for a much needed radiator.
The cabinets and panels are a mix of Castle Oak and Vanilla High Gloss Lacquer in our popular handleless range. We added Corian Clam Shell work-surfaces with features like the curved drainer grooves to match the breakfast bar shape and coved upstands behind the sink and hob seamlessy joined to the elevated breakfast bar.
We constructed a dropped ceiling to house the extractor and spotlights and we added LED strip lighting to the top of the dropped ceiling. The appliances are the kitchen specialists premium brand ATAG and features a concave induction wok hob and twin fan oven with rotisserie. The flooring is Karndean.
