There are very few jobs that don't throw up some sort of a challenge to a designer when trying to make a kitchen functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. This one in Regency Drive, Fulwood  for Mr & Mrs Tailor was no exception as a very large pillar couldn't be removed when the extension was built as it supported the back of the original part of the property.

The brief from our clients Stuart & Ann Cowgill was to modernise and refurbish the master bedroom and create an en-suite but space was at a premium and we couldn't see a way of getting an en-suite onto an outside wall where we could have a window for light and ventilation (the only proper way to have an en-suite) so we came up with the idea of knocking a doorway through into the family bathroom and installing an electronic door locking system that operated both bathroom doors together.......but all of that can be read about in the next listing in Gallery under the heading Jack and Jill

New bathroom/wetroom Lytham

This bathroom in Lytham measures just 2.4M x 2.4M x 2.4M....so not very big but as you can see with a bit of ingenuity we got a lot in and created a spacious and functional WOW new bathroom.

Space was created for the teardrop bath by breaking through and utilising a void area beneath a staircase landing.

Features include a hidden cistern with wall hung Laufen WC, a Laufen 2 drawer & 2 door cabinet with basin, the shower is a Mira Platinum Duo with combined raindrop shower and wall riser body shower all controlled by a remote with digital temperature contols.

Here is an impressive, large and bold open plan Keller kitchen installed with great skill and precision. To ensure the greatest of accuracy of levelness over such a large expanse everything was set using lazer beam technology giving us just one millimetre of deviancy over the entire installation.

We thought you might like to see this bedroom furniture although some of its not truly 'fitted' ........we adapted some standard sized products more usually seen in handle-less kitchens so the clients could have their bedroom furniture in high gloss ebony in a highly contempory style. So we have 600mm wide bedside tables with 2000mm high wall panels behind and we have a 1500mm  high chest of drawers and an1800mm high dresser with vertical handles recessed at the sides..........just something a bit different!

Modern kitchen in a Period Property

At Keller Design we have no problem in putting the vigorous, forceful and energising qualities of a modern kitchen into a period property especially when it hallmarks the 'young at heart' personalities of the clients even in retirement.

In this kitchen we bring together basalt grey gloss cabinets with white mirror chip quartzstone tops and burnt orange glass splashbacks in the ever popular handleless style all sitting on a new porcelain white cemento floor with electric underfloor heating.

It has become a growing trend for us to take on bathroom and wetroom projects for past kitchen or bedroom clients who have found it difficult to find the right mix of original but functional design coupled with affordability and a very high standard of workmanship; these clients understand our strong design ethic and our desire not to become involved in the humdrum melee of everyday bathroom re-fits that can be left to the sheds and jobbing plumbers.

Whilst the majority of our installations are of the more modern style here is a good example of what we can do in the traditional style.

Working with interior designer Louise Leahey of 360 Interiors who project managed the building and finishing of a substantial extension to this period farmhouse we designed and installed a bespoke oak kitchen sprayed in a champagne coloured structured lacquer of the clients choice. We can do that in any one of 1950 colours by the way, in silk, structured or high gloss lacquers!

This stunning Lytham penthouse with its views across the Ribble estuary and beyond is actually for sale but the owners thought that the rather dated quaint and traditional kitchen wasn't really in vogue for todays living and decided a 21st century kitchen would add to the overall appeal of the property.
